Request for Waiver of Debt Involving Erroneous Payments of Basic Allowance for Quarters

A naval member appealed the disallowance of his request for waiver of a claim arising from erroneous payments of Basic Allowance for Quarters. The member received the erroneous payments because of an administrative error during a period in which he and his dependents occupied Government quarters. He failed to question the accuracy of his pay. Since the member was not without fault, the debt for erroneous payments may not be waived.
