Request for Per Diem Expenses

An advance decision was requested regarding two Bureau of Land Management surveyors who submitted reclaim vouchers for per diem expenses. While traveling between temporary duty stations with an official stopover planned for their official duty station, they suspended travel over the weekend to avoid incurring unauthorized overtime. Although itinerant employees are required to travel on nonworkdays when returning to their official duty station, due to the distance involved in traveling by automobile the employees were entitled to per diem for the weekend.
