Highlights

A member appealed the disallowance of his claim for additional travel allowances for temporary duty travel. The disallowance was sustained because: expenses of travel for personal business were not reimbursable; expenses of circuitous travel performed for the member's convenience were reimbursable only in an amount up to the cost of travel by the most direct route between duty stations; travel orders may not be modified retroactively in the absence of error; and verbal orders amending the original orders did not meet requirements of travel regulations.
