An employee questioned whether he could be reimbursed $4,000, representing the amount he paid to be released from a binding contract for the purchase of a new home after receiving notice of a transfer. The employee can be reimbursed for the deposit as a miscellaneous expense to the extent allowed by paragraph 2-3.3b of the Federal Travel Regulations.
