Highlights
The disbursing officer of the U.S.S. Julius A. Furer requested a decision on the legality of payment of travel per diem after a member completed a training period in a permanent duty status and was assigned to another training period on temporary duty in the same location, but was required to vacate the government housing to which he was assigned. The member was not entitled to per diem allowances during the second training period, even through he had to vacate his housing, because the duty was in the same location, and the member did not enter into travel status.
