Request To Have Piaster Checks Converted to Dollars

A contractor requested that two checks payable in Vietnamese piasters be reissued in the equivalent U.S. dollar amount. The contractor had requested partial payment in piasters to pay his Vietnamese national employees, and the piasters were purchased before the checks in question were issued. The bank account was closed, and the checks cannot be reissued.
