Entitlement to Receive Disability Retired Pay

E. J. Rowe, an Authorized Certifying Officer, United States Coast Guard, requested an advance decision as to the entitlement of a former member of the Coast Guard Reserve to receive disability retired pay. For purposes of computing the retired pay, the fact that the member was not in basic pay status at the time of the disability determination or placement on the Temporary Disability Retired List was not a computation requirement; the formula merely calls for the use of the pay rate for the grade to which the member was entitled on that date.
