Highlights

The Disbursing Officer of the Naval Air Station, Moffett Field, California, requested an advance decision as to the propriety of paying a claim for room charges incurred incidental to a temporary additional duty assignment. The Navy member is not entitled to reimbursement for the charges for unoccupied Government living quarters which he maintained as a matter of personal convenience. The Joint Travel Regulations may be amended to authorize reimbursement for the concurrent maintenance of quarters at more than one temporary duty site if such arrangements are required by public business or military assignment.
