Vanport Manufacturing Company protested the rejection of all bids and subsequent readvertisement of timber sale at Gifford Pinchot National Forest, charging that the Forest Supervisor's Office who had discovered the erroneous appraisal value had no authority to reject bid offerings. It was found that the Forest Service properly rejected the bids because the errors could have resulted in sales at less than actual appraisal value.
