Highlights

A decision was requested as to whether an employee should be requested to refund part of a reimbursement received by him for the real estate commission paid incident to the sale of his residence at his old duty station. The realty agency voluntarily reimbursed the employee for equipment left in the residence as a consideration of extending the settlement date. The employee may be reimbursed for the commission only to the extent that he actually paid for such services. The amount reimbursed to the employee by the realty agency must be refunded to the government.
