Highlights

An employee requested reconsideration of the disallowance of her claim for additional per diem and automobile expenses while on temporary duty. The employee's authorized per diem was reduced from $25 to $22 based on a survey of the actual cost of extended temporary duty for employees in that area. Since the reductions based on the agency's survey were in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations, the employee was not entitled to additional per diem. The mileage rate authorized for use of a private vehicle is in lieu of actual expenses, and the employee may not receive additional reimbursement for the purchase of snow tires.
