Reimbursement of New Appointee for Travel Expenses

A decision was requested with regard to a retired military member's claim for mileage and per diem for change of station travel as a new federal appointee. As an appointee to a manpower shortage position, he may receive the amount authorized by the Federal Travel Regulations less the amount he received for travel from his last Air Force duty station to his selected place of residence.
