Highlights

An employee on extended temporary duty questioned the method used to compute his average cost of lodgings in a denied claim for additional per diem. The average daily cost of lodgings was determined by prorating rent for an apartment over 7 days rather than 5 days even though the employee returned home on weekends. Claims for additional expenses such as utilities, linen service, and maid service were denied because receipts of those expenses were not provided.
