Patents--Assignment--Intent of Parties Not Expressed--Correction

Employees of the Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co. developed an invention under a contract with the Department of the Interior that was intended to be titled jointly to Pittsburg and the Government. The United States Patent Office, however, assigned the title solely to the Government. Accordingly, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior requested authority to reform the assignment.
