The Administrative Office of the United States Courts requested that GAO provide its views on inaugurating the provisions of the Criminal Justice Act of 1964. The Administrative Office enquired if fees and expenses would be payable out of the appropriations bill for fiscal year 1966 if attorneys were appointed and other expenses were authorized prior to the enactment of the bill.
