RUSSELL F. WILSON, LIEUTENANT (JG), USN U. S. S. TURNER (DDR-834):

FURTHER REFERENCE IS MADE TO YOUR LETTER OF FEBRUARY 4, 1954, REQUESTING RECONSIDERATION OF DECISION DATED DECEMBER 14, 1953, WHICH SUSTAINED SETTLEMENT OF AUGUST 20, 1953, DISALLOWING YOUR CLAIM FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF COST OF SHIPPING YOUR HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS FROM STORAGE IN ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO, TO LOS ALAMOS, NEW MEXICO, ON DECEMBER 3, 1952.

BY ORDERS DATED AUGUST 1, 1952, A COPY OF WHICH YOU FURNISHED WITH YOUR LETTER OF APRIL 22, 1954, YOU WERE DIRECTED TO REPORT FOR TEMPORARY DUTY AT ENIWETOK ATOLL, MARSHALL ISLANDS - THE OVERSEAS DUTY TO WHICH YOU REFERRED IN YOUR LETTER OF FEBRUARY 4, 1954 - FOR AN INDEFINITE PERIOD AND UPON COMPLETION THEREOF TO RETURN AND RESUME REGULAR DUTIES AT LOS ALAMOS, NEW MEXICO. IT APPEARS FROM THE FIRST INDORSEMENT ON SAID ORDERS THAT YOU COMPLETED YOUR TOUR OF TEMPORARY DUTY AT MARSHALL ISLANDS ON NOVEMBER 23, 1952. SINCE SUCH ORDERS DID NOT INVOLVE A PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION, THEY AFFORD NO LEGAL BASIS FOR REIMBURSING YOU FOR THE COST OF THE SHIPMENT MADE BY YOU FROM ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO, TO LOS ALAMOS, NEW MEXICO, ON DECEMBER 3, 1952. YOUR LETTER OF FEBRUARY 4, 1954, CONTAINS NO MATERIAL FACTS OR INFORMATION NOT PREVIOUSLY CONSIDERED AND DOES NOT WARRANT ANY MODIFICATION OF THE PRIOR DECISION IN THE MATTER.
