Bureau of Indian Affairs' Contract Practices Under the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act

GAO commented on whether the Bureau of Indian Affairs' (BIA) award of retroactive contracts violated provisions of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act. GAO held that it had no basis to question the legality of BIA's retroactive contract awards, since there was no statutory prohibition against BIA's award of the contracts.
