Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO reviewed the accuracy and completeness of information that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provided on grants and cooperative agreements issued by the EPA Office of Mobile Sources after November 5, 1992. GAO noted that EPA did not identify: (1) three grants, valued at $1.1 million, to organizations that Congress identified; (2) 33 grants issued after November 1992, valued at $7.6 million; (3) 26 active grants that may have been used after November 5, 1992; and (4) two grants issued by the EPA Office of Research and Development that may have supported mobile source pollution research, valued at $1.4 million.
