Imaging Equipment Services, Inc.-- Reconsideration:

Imaging Equipment Services, Inc. (IES) requests reconsideration of our decision, Imaging Equip. Servs., Inc., B-247201, Jan. 10, 1992, 92-1 CPD Para. ***, in which we dismissed its protest of allegedly restrictive requirements in request for proposals (RFP) No. 691-38-92, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs for maintenance of a Picker International computerized tomography scanner.

We deny the request.

IES challenges our conclusion that its protest failed to state a legally sufficient basis. However, the agency informs us that it has canceled the RFP and will resolicit the requirement using less restrictive specifications. Since the RFP on which IES' protest was based has been canceled, rendering the protest academic, it would serve no useful purpose for us to reconsider our dismissal of that protest. See Morey Mach., Inc. -- Recon., B-233793; B-233793.2, Aug. 3, 1989, 89-2 CPD Para. 102.

The request for reconsideration is denied.
