A Soil Conservation Service employee claimed reimbursement for two househunting trips to seek permanent residence quarters at her new duty station. GAO held that the: (1) employee could be reimbursed for travel and transportation expenses for only one round trip between her old and new duty stations; and (2) fact that the employee had to abort one trip due to severe flood conditions did not create the right to additional reimbursement. Accordingly, the employee may be reimbursed for only one of the trips.
