Highlights

The Air Force requested an advance decision regarding an employee's entitlement to overtime compensation for time he spent travelling incident to a transfer. GAO held that: (1) the claimant was not entitled to overtime compensation; and (2) if the claimant was a nonexempt employee under the Fair Labor Standards Act and travelled on a nonworkday during hours that corresponded to his normal workday hours, he might be entitled to overtime compensation. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
