Highlights

A GAO employee claimed reimbursement for rental car expenses he incurred when his privately owned vehicle broke down while he was returning from his temporary duty station. GAO held that it could reimburse the claimant for the cost of the rental vehicle, not to exceed the cost of per diem he would have incurred at his temporary duty station. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
