[Request for Review of Claims Group's Settlement of DODDS Employee's Claim for Travel Expenses]

The Department of Defense Dependents Schools requested a review of an employee's allowed claim for reimbursement for travel expenses he incurred in presenting an oral response to a proposed notice of removal. GAO held that such travel, required to effectuate the claimant's right to present an oral response, constituted official business. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
