[Decision Concerning VA Employee's Appeal of Claims Group's Partial Denial of Request for Waiver of Erroneous Salary Overpayments]

A Veterans Administration (VA) employee appealed the partial denial of his request for waiver of the erroneous salary overpayments he received, contending that VA should have corrected the error once it had realized it and notified him. GAO held that the employee should have ascertained the correctness of his pay after VA notified him of the error. Accordingly, the request for waiver was denied.
