Highlights

The Forest Service requested a decision regarding an employee's claim for reimbursement for travel expenses and overtime in conjunction with his daily commute between his residence and his official duty station. GAO held that the employee was not entitled to: (1) reimbursement for his travel expenses, since he was on permanent duty; or (2) compensation for the time he spent commuting, since time spent traveling between his residence and permanent duty station was not compensable. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
