Highlights

The Air Force requested a decision as to whether it could reimburse an employee for real estate expenses incident to his transfer. Extended temporary duty and medical problems prevented the employee from selling his former residence within the time allowed, and he failed to request an extension while still eligible. GAO held that regulations did not prohibit the Air Force from retroactively extending the deadline for extension requests. Accordingly, the claim was returned to the Air Force for review.
