Highlights
The Veterans Administration (VA) requested a decision concerning the legality of reimbursing an employee for relocation expenses in connection with an official transfer, since the employee had requested the transfer so she could be near her seriously ill son. GAO held that: (1) VA properly determined that the transfer was in the government's interest; and (2) it would not disturb that determination since the decision was not erroneous, arbitrary, or capricious. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
