[Request for Decision Concerning USDA Employee's Claim for Reimbursement for Loan Application Fee]

The Department of Agriculture requested a decision regarding a transferred employee's claim for full reimbursement of the loan application and origination fees on his new residence. GAO held that the employee was: (1) entitled to reimbursement of his entire loan application fee, since it was the customary fee in his new location; and (2) not entitled to reimbursement for part of his loan origination fee which included interest on loans, points, and mortgage discounts. Accordingly, the claim was allowed in part and denied in part.
