[Response to Request for Decision on Reimbursement of Air Force Industrial Fund Agency for Vehicle Damage]

The Air Force requested a decision regarding whether an Air Force base should reimburse a subdivision of the Air Force Industrial Fund for damage to two trucks that the base borrowed from the Fund. GAO held that, while federal agencies may not generally reimburse each other for property damages, the prohibition does not apply where the fund that would be charged for a nonreimbursable expense is a revolving fund. Accordingly, the Air Force base should reimburse the Fund for the damages.
