[Claim for Relocation and Real Estate Expenses]

A Defense Logistics Agency employee claimed reimbursement for real estate expenses incident to the sale of his house after he was transferred. The sale of the house was not completed until more than 3 years after the claimant was transferred, but he entered into an agreement to sell the house before 3 years had elapsed. GAO held that, since the actual sale did not take place within 3 years after the transfer, the employee could not be reimbursed. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
