Request for Reconsideration

A Drug Enforcement Administration employee requested a reconsideration of a decision which established his liability for excess weight charges incurred in the transportation of his household goods incident to his official change of duty station. In its original decision, GAO held that the question as to whether and to what extent authorized weights have been exceeded in the shipment of household effects is a question of fact primarily for administrative determination. Ordinarily these matters will not be questioned by GAO in the absence of evidence showing it to be clearly in error. The requester submitted no new evidence which would indicate a mistake of fact or law and, therefore, failed to meet his burden of proof. Accordingly, the prior decision was affirmed.
