Highlights

A decision was requested concerning entitlement of a transferred employee who had sold his residence through a "contract for deed" to reimbursement for certain real estate expenses. He may be paid for expenses incurred incident to legal title transfer upon purchaser's payment of the loan. Extension of the time limit for settlement is not required since the "contract for deed" date, which was within 1 year of the employee's transfer, is considered the settlement date. Additional expenses were incurred within the 2-year maximum time limitation, but payment for the title search may not be made if it duplicates expenses for title insurance.
