Qualification as Dependent for Purposes of Family Separation Allowances

Captain R. W. Bennett, USAF, Accounting and Finance Officer for Headquaters 3d Tactical Fighter Wing, Pacific Air Force, requested an advance decision as to whether a member was entitled to a family separation allowance. Since the member provided complete support for his daughter, who was the age of majority, during the period she resided with him following his divorce and during a subsequent period while she attended college, the daughter qualified as the member's dependent for purposes of family separation allowances.
