Claim for Commuting Expenses While on Temporary Duty Assignment

A decision was requested on the propriety of reimbursing a member for travel expenses incurred on a temporary duty assignment. The member may be reimbursed for mileage while commuting between his permanent residence and temporary duty station, not to exceed the amount he would have received had he remained at the temporary duty station.
