Waiver of Overpayments of Erroneous Annuity Payments

The widow of a service member requested a waiver of erroneous overpayments of her Survivor Benefit Plan annuity because the initial payments did not take into account Veterans Administration Dependency and Indemnity Compensation payments. The widow was without fault in the erroneous payments, and recovery of the overpayments would cause her undue financial hardship. Recovery of the overpayments may be waived.
