Highlights

An advance decision was requested as to whether a military member could receive pay and allowances for a period of work release during which the member reported to his unit and performed normal duties for the normal work day and then was returned to jail for confinement until the next morning. Since the member daily performed duties with his unit which were commensurate with his grade, military specialty, and length of service, and these duties were satisfactorily performed, the member is entitled to receive pay and allowances for each day of full-time duty commensurate with his grade and specialty performed during the period in question.
