WE HAVE NOW DETERMINED THAT THE DELAY IN GUADALAJARA. WAS CAUSED BY THE LAST MINUTE CHANGE IN YOUR ASSIGNMENT AND DID NOT RESULT FROM ANY ACTION ON YOUR PART. WE HAVE INSTRUCTED THE CLAIMS DIVISION OF OUR OFFICE TO ISSUE SETTLEMENT TO YOU FOR ADDITIONAL PER DIEM FOR THE DAYS INVOLVED IN THAT DELAY.

WE REFER TO YOUR LETTER OF MARCH 9, 1965 CONCERNING YOUR CLAIM FOR ADDITIONAL PER DIEM IN LIEU OF SUBSISTENCE INCIDENT TO THE TRAVEL YOU PERFORMED WITH YOUR FAMILY FROM SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA, TO CARACAS, VENEZUELA, IN SEPTEMBER 1963 ON PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE.

WE HAVE NOW DETERMINED THAT THE DELAY IN GUADALAJARA, MEXICO, WAS CAUSED BY THE LAST MINUTE CHANGE IN YOUR ASSIGNMENT AND DID NOT RESULT FROM ANY ACTION ON YOUR PART. THEREFORE, WE HAVE INSTRUCTED THE CLAIMS DIVISION OF OUR OFFICE TO ISSUE SETTLEMENT TO YOU FOR ADDITIONAL PER DIEM FOR THE DAYS INVOLVED IN THAT DELAY.
