FURTHER REFERENCE IS MADE TO YOUR LETTER OF JULY 10, 1957, CLAIM 12 426754, IN WHICH YOU ENCLOSED A CHECK FOR $360 (DESIGNATED AS INVALID 90 DAYS AFTER ISSUANCE) AND OFFERED TO SETTLE ON A 50-PERCENT BASIS THE GOVERNMENT'S CLAIM FOR $720, REPRESENTING THE COST OF REPAIRING A DRILLING MACHINE DAMAGED WHILE IN TRANSIT FROM DETROIT, MICHIGAN, TO TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA, UNDER GOVERNMENT BILL OF LADING NO. AF-6217850.

WE HAVE NOT, AS YET, COMPLETED THE ASSEMBLING OF THE PERTINENT PAPERS. WHEN THE RECORD HAS BEEN FULLY DEVELOPED WE ANTICIPATE FORWARDING YOUR OFFER TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR HIS CONSIDERATION.
