Federal Grants to New Jersey

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided information on the number and amount of federal grants awarded to New Jersey entities in fiscal year (FY) 1994. GAO noted that: (1) New Jersey state and local government federal grants totalled about $6.2 billion in FY 1994; and (2) for FY 1993, New Jersey state and local governments and nongovernmental units received about $6.3 billion in grants from 480 different federal programs.
