Use of National Park Service Funds to Purchase Land

This decision responds to a letter from the Secretary of the Interior (Secretary)to the Comptroller General of the United States, wherein the Secretary wishes to use appropriated funds for the National Park Service to purchase a tract of land adjacent to the Mount Vernon Memorial Highway. The purpose of purchasing the land is to prevent it from being used in a way contrary to the highway's memorial nature.
