Discussed in this report is the review of selected activities at certain locations of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of the Interior, completed in August 1960.

GAO's review disclosed a number of failures in the area of financial management. Many of these deficiencies would have been disclosed by a vigorous program of administrative inspection and internal audit. Such a program would afford the Bureau an opportunity to take early corrective action based on its own findings.
