FURTHER REFERENCE IS MADE TO YOUR LETTER OF JUNE 12, 1955, PROTESTING THE REQUIREMENTS OF INVITATIONS NOS. P-108 AND P-109, ISSUED BY THE BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS, DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, COVERING THE LEASING OF PASSENGER-CARRYING VEHICLES.

BY DECISION OF JUNE 24, 1955, COPY HEREWITH, THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR WAS ADVISED THAT THE TIME PROVIDED IN THE INVITATION FOR DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLES WAS INSUFFICIENT TO ALLOW THE FREE AND OPEN COMPETITION REQUIRED BY SECTION 3709, REVISED STATUTES, AND THAT, THEREFORE, NO AWARD SHOULD BE MADE UNDER EITHER INVITATION. IN VIEW THEREOF, NO FURTHER ACTION ON YOUR PROTEST APPEARS NECESSARY.
