Comptroller General's Annual Report 1996

GAO reported on its activities for fiscal year 1996. GAO: (1) summarized its work on major issues such as, defense acquisitions, housing, tax administration, disability benefit programs, government management, federal information and financial management systems, and education and employment; (2) highlighted selected reports and testimony on these and other issues including aviation safety and security and the environment; (3) commented on its operational and financial performance; and (4) provided its financial statements and independent auditors' report for fiscal years 1996 and 1995.
