Agribusiness Leadership: A Key to World Prosperity

This article, which appeared in the GAO Journal, No. 10, Fall 1990, discusses the emerging structure of the global agribusiness system, focusing on: (1) agricultural commodity production emphasizing value-added products and services; (2) government policies to further encourage fair and open markets; (3) leadership strategies that encourage freer trade and a market orientation worldwide; and (4) the steps necessary to ensure continued growth in the U.S. agricultural sector.
