Highlights

The Forest Service requested a decision concerning an employee's claim for reimbursement for local moving expenses and restoration of annual leave incident to his move from government housing to a private residence, contending that the government forced him to move out of the government housing. GAO held that the claimant was not entitled to reimbursement for his moving expenses or restoration of his annual leave, since the government only provided the temporary government housing to new employees to allow them sufficient time to locate a permanent residence. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
