The Defense Logistics Agency requested a decision concerning an employee's entitlement to reimbursement for lodging expenses for his ill spouse incident to his temporary duty travel. GAO held that the claimant was not entitled to reimbursement, since he: (1) chose off-base lodging for personal reasons; and (2) did not obtain the required government quarters nonavailability statement. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
