Highlights

The Department of Commerce requested a decision concerning whether an employee was entitled to reimbursement for travel in his privately owned airplane incident to his transfer. GAO held that the agency properly determined that use of the airplane was advantageous to the government, since the employee would use it in carrying out his new duties. Accordingly, Commerce should reimburse the employee.
