Highlights

The Forest Service requested a decision concerning an employee's entitlement to per diem and mileage allowances for tours of duty at two work sites. GAO held that the: (1) Forest Service improperly designated one site as the claimant's official duty station; (2) claimant was entitled to a per diem allowance and mileage allowances less the amount he had already received; and (3) claimant was not entitled to the portion of his claim which accrued more than 6 years before he filed the claim. Accordingly, the claim was allowed in part and denied in part.
