[Decision Concerning Propriety of Certain Housing Agreements Between Air Force and West Germany]

The Air Force requested a decision concerning the propriety of leasing military housing from the Federal Republic of Germany without prescribing maximum allowable costs. GAO noted that: (1) estimated costs under the prospective agreement did not exceed the statutory limit; and (2) the agreement contained a clause allowing termination at the Air Force's convenience. Accordingly, the Air Force may enter the agreement.
