Legislative Developments

This article, which appeared in the GAO Review, Vol. 20, Issue 4, Fall 1985, discusses: (1) new guidelines for use by a sentencing court; (2) a report on foreign industrial targeting which the Trade and Tariff Act of 1984 required; (3) the State Justice Institute Act which establishes a private, nonprofit corporation; (4) new bid protest regulations; (5) cost savings awards to federal employees; (6) proposed legislation for a report on the condition of displaced Salvadorans; (7) proposed federal coal leasing amendments; and (8) legislation requiring the Department of Defense to develop a plan for an improved technical data management system.
